Kasama Means Together: Connecting Through Longanisa

In this lesson, students will learn how food connects them to others/their family by learning about the Filipino sausage longanisa and drawing or writing a story about sharing a dish with someone special to them. This lesson was designed with the support of Chefs Genie Kwon and Tim Flores of the world’s first Michelin-starred Filipino restaurant KASAMA in Chicago. Their famous longanisa sausage breakfast sandwich has become known as one of the best dishes the city has to offer.
