Hummus…(Should I Add to My Recipe)?
Students will better understand how taste correlates with ratios and proportional relationships to predict the recipe for a food dish by adding/subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with common/uncommon denominators and by creating proportional quantities.
What Pilot Light Teachers are saying:
“This lesson helped us see how proportions and ratios are important in maintaining a flavor profile while cooking. They see value in measuring and knowing which flavors are stronger than others. It also taught them attention to detail because they had to know how much of each item to add.” – 9th and 10th grade Geometry teacher
