About the Food Education Center

For over 15 years, Pilot Light has partnered with educators to integrate food education across academic subjects, making learning more engaging, relevant, and memorable. The Food Education Center is Pilot Light’s digital hub for food education resources, designed to meet educators wherever they are in their journey.

Pilot Light is a Chicago-founded, nationally operating nonprofit on a mission to make food education a cornerstone of PreK-12 learning. We believe every child deserves to understand where food comes from, how it nourishes their body, and how food connects to culture, community, and the planet. Our programs and lessons are designed to support educators as they integrate food education topics into everyday classroom learning.
